Emojis may seem to be a weird element of iPhone usage that is reserved for the younger generation, but the functionality that allows for Emojis is actually part of your iPhone by default. The Emoji keyboard is included among the stock keyboards that are part of a factory iPhone, and you can add the Emoji keyboard without downloading any third-party apps, or paying any additional money.
The tutorial in this article will show you the steps to follow in order to find and install the Emoji keyboard on your iPhone 6 so that you can start using Emojis in text messages, email messages, and almost any other app that uses the standard iPhone keyboard.
Adding the Emoji Keyboard to an iPhone 6
The steps below were performed on an iPhone 6 Plus, in iOS 9.3. These steps also work for other iPhone models running iOS 7 or higher.
Step 1: Open the Settings menu.
Step 2: Open the General menu.
Step 3: Open the Keyboard menu.
Step 4: Tap the Keyboards button at the top of the screen.
Step 5: Touch the Add New Keyboard button.
Step 6: Scroll down and tap the Emoji option.
Now when you open an app that uses the keyboard, you will see a smiley face to the left of the spacebar. If you have other keyboards installed, then you may see a globe icon instead. Pressing that key will switch the keyboard, allowing you to tap on emojis that you want to use and insert them in your message.
