The pictures that you take on your iPhone 6 can be shared with your contacts through the Messages app. While messages that you send through iMessage will use that protocol, messages that are sent to people that aren’t using an iPhone will be sent via SMS.
But if you wish to send a picture to an SMS contact, then a different type of protocol will be used, called MMS. This setting is typically enabled on an iPhone by default, but it is a configurable setting. You can follow our guide below to check if MMS messaging is enabled, and enable it if it is not.
Turning on Picture Messages on an iPhone 6
These steps were performed on an iPhone 6, in iOS 9.3
Step 1: Tap the Settings icon.
Step 2: Scroll down and tap the Messages option.
Step 3: Tap the button to the right of MMS Messaging to turn it on.
